"Pulpit Swap"

St. Teresa is part of the ECC Southwest Region, including parishes in Arizona and New Mexico.  In order to get to know our neighboring communities in New Mexico, St. Teresa arranged a “pulpit swap” with our sister parishes of St. Mary Magdalene and St. Oscar Romero in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  On the weekend of December 14-15, 2019, Rev. Kate and members of the St. Teresa community traveled to Albuquerque and celebrated Mass at the New Mexico parishes.

On Saturday, December 14, Rev. Kate celebrated mass at St. Mary Magdalene Community.  Along with Fr. Mark Sutton, pastor, the members of the community celebrated the third week of Advent in a lovely evening liturgy!  Following mass, the community shared hospitality and we got to know a bit about each other.  Fr. Mark hopes to travel to Phoenix in 2020 and celebrate mass with us!

On Sunday, December 15, Rev. Kate celebrated mass at St. Oscar Romero Catholic Community. Along with Fr. Frank Quintana, pastor, the members of the community celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe.  The Mariachi Albuquerque led the singing and it was a beautiful celebration!  The community shared lunch and welcoming conversation.  Fr. Frank also hopes to celebrate mass with our ECC communities in Arizona in 2020.

We are thankful for the hospitality of our sister Albuquerque parishes and welcome a visit this year!
